When I finally decided to do something about these branches I had three main concerns: 1) I didn't want to pay more than I should have to pay to have the work done, 2) I wanted someone who knew how to safely get up into that giant tree and do the work and 3) I wanted only what was needed to be removed should be removed.

I called several Yelp-recommended tree care companies. I have never liked Beaver Tree or Action Tree so those were out of the question. One company give me a ridiculously high estimate, after I sent a photo of the tree.

Not only did Ronnie Gosnell return my call in a timely manner, he came right out that day and took a look at the job. He endeared himself to me forever when his first words were, "You know that tree is never going to fall over onto your house, right?" It is always heartwarming to have one's convictions corroborated by an expert. Plus, then I knew I wasn't dealing with someone who wanted to "take" me, by trying to talk me into either removing the tree or trying to talk me into having too many branches removed.

We discussed the shape of the tree and talked about taking off what was necessary to keep as much greenery as possible. A fair price was agreed upon; 1/2 what the one company had asked.

The crew came out within a few days, the job was done efficiently and painlessly. At my request, the men loaded the wood chips onto a tarp in my yard, so that I could use my Lemon gum's chips as mulch. This made me very happy.

If you want the job done right, if you want someone who really knows trees and you want someone who cares about trees, have Montecito Tree Care do the job. You'll be glad you did.

His crew also shone earlier this month in installing a tree-hung hung low voltage "moonlighting" system for our front walk. Though the work was tricky, our instructions were executed perfectly and we love the result.

I am still struck at times by the "before and afters". There is of course a wild beauty to mature trees but there is also a very sculptural aspect to them once they have been trimmed and cleaned of any lingering dead wood. It can actually be quite transforming to the overall look of the landscape. 

Be cautious about going with the lowest bidder. I no longer live in town and suffered the consequences of hackers hired by my HOA. Unfortunately, bad tree work can go beyond a "bad haircut" that will eventually grow out. Two trees in front of my place were destroyed by incompetent trimmers and a mature tree cannot just be replaced. If you are lucky enough to have beautiful, mature trees on your property, they are an asset you do not want destroyed by someone who doesn't know what they are doing. 

You can find cheaper tree companies and you can definitely find more expensive. Montecito Tree Care are very fairly priced and do absolute top notch work. Anyone I have referred them to has not wanted to work with anyone else once they saw the results. If you are gathering estimates do yourself the favor of meeting with Ronnie.

Ronnie, himself, is a sincere professional who never dishes out misleading information just to make a sale. You can trust Ronnie, which is always the key to a good business and good person.

Ronnie and his team are beyond fantastic. They took down two very large trees with craftsmanship and ease. Our home was spotless when they left and the entire job completed without any disruption. On top of that, the team were super helpful and friendly and committed to completing a fantastic job. No hesitation, Montecito Tree Care is the best!

I called and set up an appointment and Ronnie, he showed up on time to give me an estimate to thin out my oak tree that was causing damage to a retaining wall. His crew of three guys showed up when they said they would and got right to work. By the time I got back to my house a few hours later the tree looked amazing and the yard looked like they had never been there. The wood was stacked on the side of the house and everything was clean. If you need to have tree work done, I highly recommend Montecito Tree Care!!

I called Ronnie last year when I was worried about my beautiful big Oak. It was covered with caterpillars. They were all over the house & everywhere. He not only took the time to call me back, he explained to me in detail what was happening.. I called him recently to have him shaped the tree. He is very knowledgeable in his field. He gave me a fair price for everything he did and his guys are very nice. They did a wonderful job & cleaned up nicely when they were done. Ronnie's guys not only shaped the tree beautifully to get it more balanced but they cut, split and stacked the wood for me along with cleaning the gutters and downspouts. I'm thrilled with the job and I highly recommend him!
